Pillows are a great way to spruce up a room, they are inexpensive and can be made to match any mood or attitude you want to express in a room.

If you are making a pillow you will most likely be using a pillow form. What exactly is a pillow form?

A pillow form is generally a square or rectangular piece of padding used to stuff pillows. It gives the pillow shape and form. It provides you with exact measurements so you can accurately cut your material to form the cover for the form.

The pillow form is generally filled with polyester fibers, and when done well is sewn using knife edge construction. This will make them durable and strong. However, you can get more high end pillow forms filled with bamboo.

There are also different coverings available. Many retailers offer bleached muslin, and plain cotton pillow form coverings. Which one you need will depend on what you intend to use your pillow for. You can also find different levels of thread count in the pillow form cover. The higher the thread count the softer the fabric will be.

Pillow forms come in many different sizes and shapes. You can find sizes that will work for your basic throw pillows, to very large sizes. There are many retailers who offer ring bearer pillow forms. This will allow you to have the form but choose how you want the actually pillow to look. You can choose the colors, and decorations so you can create a custom ring bearer pillow that will perfectly match your wedding.

Pillow forms allow you to express your creativity and sew a wide range of pillow projects. If you enjoy sewing, and have yet to try sewing a pillow, you will find it is a relatively quick, easy and satisfying project.
